Forgive me the poor translation. If there ever was a textbook case of meaning getting lost in translation, this would be it! But it is a beautiful line; again, from Marasim.
Winter is gradually making itself at home. For the first time this season, it was foggy all through today. The mornings are beautiful; the evenings, picturesque.
I was about to post some poetry, but I think it can wait.
Life smells and tastes of ginger and cinnamon. Perfect.

why ginger and cinnamon ? is it a chai connection? :)
not really...though i do like adrak chai :) somehow, winter smells of these to me in my head...it's a little difficult to explain without sounding like i'm bonkers or something :)
after 80-something posts, its a tad too late for u to be concerned about the bonkers thing now!;)
but i am still curious, why ginger and cinnamon ?
you have a point there :) it *is* too late, so i shall tell you why. i love the taste of ginger and cinnamon, and the way they smell. warm and delicious and wholesome and comforting. for some reason, when i think of winter and warmth in the same thought, my brain automatically conjures up a picture of a little pile of cinnamon and a small heap of freshly grated ginger on a forest-green kitchen slab. and then i can actually briefly smell their aroma and taste them. very warm, very wintry...happens all the time!
see, i told you i'd sound bananas if i explained!
haha more than ur taste for cinnamon and ginger, i totally dig your taste for the kitchen in your dreams :D i wud love to eat anything in that kitchen :D
then you are welcome to my kitchen, my friend, for a cup of adrak chai and cinnamon-flavoured biscuits! :)
yumm.. in return, i can get you some herbal tea from my side of the world, aka, "yogi tea".. as funny as the name sounds.. its the closest american relative to the indian hearbal chai :D
yogi tea? they really have something called yogi tea? i think it deserves a try...as much for its name as for its nourishing, healing properties! :)
