Hey, I wouldn't call chemists pathetic at all! Some of the most, um, interesting people I know are chemists! And of course you're entitled to thinking that your field's a cool one...it's how I feel about economics too :) :) And we survived the meltdown more or less in one piece, so yay! :D
ha ha the meltdown is still on in the us of a, glad am in grad school and not hunting for a job out there. but seriously i do enjoy chemistry, but sometimes i do feel grad school kills my brain cells, like literally i think they are dying a slow painful death :P
Yeah, our richer cousins are still grappling with the meltdown. See, now, THAT's why I said I'm glad we have an economist for a PM (smug smile :D)...nice and insulated he has kept us since the 90s (so convenient...slammed him for it in college essays on Financial Systems and am taking his side now that it has saved us from a complete collapse :) At least your brain cells are still around for you to feel them going. Mine took off on vacation when, against their opinion, I signed up for my PG course. I haven't heard from them since. :|
